A lot of hair is cut broader with shorter lines this season. Extensions give women the option of long."

Clients pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars for the locks, which can be as simple as creating a fuller up-do for an event to full extensions that can last months.

Both Indian men and women regularly donate their hair at temples, said Raghu Sundaram, an associate professor of finance at New York University's Stern School of Business.

The Tirupati temple in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh is a "particularly popular spot" for South Indians, he said.

"The people who donate their hair are not concerned with what happens to it. If the money is put to good use, I see nothing wrong with that," said Manoj Joshi, an economic counselor at the Indian Embassy in Washington.

Others regard it as their donation to the temple.

They believe that, in return, the god Vishnu will grant them health and happiness. The gesture shows they are willing to give up their pride and vanity before marriage. Every day up to 4,000 stand in line for the sacred head-shaving ceremony at the temple in Tirupati, in hilly Andhra Pradesh.

"It's a wonderful thing," says Batsheva Schilis, 24, of Oakwood, Staten Island, who recently fitted extensions to her hair. "It doesn't frizz in the summer and is easy to straighten and maintain.

"But, if you're a spiritual person like me, you feel an energy from the chi of the woman who donated it. I don't think the Indian women are exploited. They see the ceremony as an honor."

Great Lengths International, an Italian company that buys hair from Tirupati and other Hindu temples, exports the bundles to Africa, where they are washed, sorted and stitched at the root before being finished in Italy.

The product is later shipped to wholesalers and on to upscale salons such as A.F Bennett and Warren-Tricomi in Manhattan.
"It is the most like European and Caucasian hair in texture and appropriate for any chemical treatment," says a spokeswoman for Great Lengths International. "This hair is available in the needed quantities to meet the global demand."

She added that the hair is derived from consenting women of all ages and the cash raised by the temples finances community projects.
However, though the Indian government regulates the hair's sale, concerns grow about the black market that supplies cheaper versions.
It estimates up to 80 of every 100 locks of hair come from illicit dealings where suppliers prey on desperately poor women and pressure them into selling their hair for next to nothing.

"In many cases we fear women are being exploited," says trade minister E.V.K.S. Elangovan. "This is obviously an environment which breeds illegality."

A simple analogy is to see further at night, you require a more powerful torch light, by using 2, 4 or ever 6 low powered torch lights side-by-side, you can not see further into the darkness. Similarly, adding more 5mW laser modules may exposure a larger area at one time but does not result in more powerful treatment. Only by using MULTIPLE & STRONGER laser modules do you receive more powerful treatment and deeper penetration by the laser light energy into your skin. For LLLT to be most successful, the laser energy must penetrate below the base of the hair follicle.

2. Design of Laser Module:

Basic laser modules are constructed with a barrel design, they are typically black and around 1" long cylinders. The light and radiation amplification is produced at one end of the barrel, and the laser beam is channelled through a series of focusing lens to ultimately emit a concentrated laser beam from the end of the plastic barrel. Very similar concept to how a telescope channels light through a long cylinder. They is essentially an analogue design. A newer concept in laser module design, is a digital and solid state laser scattering module. Electronic components within each laser module evenly disperse the laser energy. Laser scattering modules are easily identifiable as they are smaller and more solid than the older black plastic barrel designs used in most LLLT devices. Here is one comparison:

3. Quality of Laser Modules:

There are medical quality laser modules (found in medical devices) and there are consumer quality laser modules (found in toys, video games, laser pointers etc.) There are also several grades of laser modules such as A-grade, B-grade, C-grade and D-grade. Over all performance, life time, consistency of power levels and consistency of wavelength are all key factors in determining the quality and grade of a laser module. Another less known difference in laser modules is what we call the "warm up factor." Some 5mW laser modules we have tested take between 10-15 minutes just to "warm up" and reach their peak power outputs. Meaning during the first 10-15 minutes of your 15 minute session with low grade 5mW laser modules you may be receiving much less than the advertised 5mW. Low grade laser modules also fluctuate in their wavelengths, meaning one batch may be 600nm and another 615nm and another 630nm. Unfortunately a key factor in determining laser module quality is simply cost. A-grade 5mW laser modules may cost 5-10x more than D-grade laser modules.

Laser comb core design: More and more laser comb products are appearing on the market, most cleverly advertise 5mW power output, or even multiple 5mW laser modules or single 10-25mW laser modules or a total of 45mW or more. However, how this laser energy is distributed is just as important than the total laser power. On one side of the spectrum many of the cheaper products have NO dispersion method included in their design. Meaning they simply install laser modules that give little actual coverage of your scalp. On the other side of the spectrum, other designs use either plastic mirrors, plastic lens or plastic fibre optics to disperse single laser beams into smaller parts - resulting in over all low power per centimetre and a measurable loss of power in the splitting and refraction process. This is very simple to calculate, for example a design using a single 5mW module dispersed over 10cm with plastic light pipes has a maximum laser power output of 0.5mW per centimetre i.e. next to useless. A product like this may be advertised at 5mW, but this means TOTAL POWER, not what actually reaches your scalp per centimetre. Typically this method also results in wildly uneven laser power distribution. This is a generous calculation as it does not take into account the typical 30% loss of power in refracting and reflecting laser beams.

Quality modules, although extremely expensive to use, provide even and consistent scattering of the laser energy. Actually, the provide EXACT distribution. Digital laser scattering modules are the only efficient and reliable way to uniformly scatter laser energy. The use of mirrors, lens and other plastic fibre optics, although significantly less expensive, results in loss of power and uneven distribution. Again, we can prove this as laser combs using plastic mirrors have outputs between 0.5-4mW per beam. Some brands have one single a 1, 2 or 5mW laser spread over a larger surface, resulting in extremely low over all power and exposure.

Batteries or Mains Power?: 2x AA batteries do not last long in toys, battery laptops and large and heavy and last only around 60 minutes. A couple of rechargeable batteries can not possibly power a medical quality devices for much longer than a few minutes a full power.

Okay, so what did we find is the true laser that is worth to buy or rent and won 5***** by The Laser Comb Review? CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT!

I have been getting numerous emails from clients, hair companies and cosmetologists looking to get into hair extensions. The main common questions are "This salon charges the same exact price as the popular methods and I have hardly seen or read about their method." and "This company is charging our salon the same exact price for their hair and I have hardly seen or read about their hair."

It is true that there are countless hair companies promoting their product as the "best in the world", as "the least damaging", "no comparison", etc.

But in my opinion, having done countless methods, what some of my clients call the "best" may be the"worst" to my other clients; and vice versa. Bottom line, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE BEST OR THE LEAST DAMAGING. It is all PREFERENCES.

Keeping this in mind, some of my fellow stylists asks me, "Charlene, why then is this 'never-heard' of mom and pop hair company charging my salon the exact same price for hair as my other company who's more globally/popular known?" The answer? COMPETITION. The rule for any hair manufacturing company is to charge the same as their competition. Otherwise, stylists who will question if this hair is cheaper, it may not be worth it for their clients. Now because stylists are paying the same exact costs for a globally/popular known hair company and for a mom and pop company, stylists feel that they must charge their clients the same.

This is WRONG!

First of all let's compare this to Internet companies. Google, globally/popular known, right? Yahoo!, globally/popular known, right? IMadeItUpSearchEngine, anyone heard of it? Nope. Now, if you are an investor, common sense tells you that Google and Yahoo! stocks are high whereas IMadeItUpSearchEngine's stock is low in comparison.

Now, don't ask me how can you tell if a company is globally/popular known? DO YOUR RESEARCH! THE INTERNET IS YOUR TOOL. Check out magazine articles. Ask the stylist who is selling you the method for the grandfather website.

Now let's discuss what 'stocks' you should pay mom and pop hair companies and globally/popular known companies. For a full head of hair extensions, up to $1500 for mom and pops and for globally/popular known companies $2500 to $5000 for a full head. If you are a stylist, do not charge clients the same even though the price of hair is the same as what you are paying globally/popular known companies.

Stylists, now let's say if a mom and pop company and a globally/popular known company offers classes and their costs is the same. If I were you, I would go with the globally/popular known company. Why? You are part of their global network. They will refer clients to you. They advertise extensively in many top fashion and beauty magazines, TVs. They are very cautious to whom they sell their hair too. Their website doesn't even show hair for sale. They have many salons in their list of referrals. They are worth it. As for the mom and pop company, I would wait till they grow and become more exposed. I would just buy their training videos or books. You may feel that the mom and pop's hair could be better, but the key to a stylist's success is building their business. In other words, if you sold cola which would sell best...and for the SAME EXACT price tag? Pepsi or ColaDrink?

The most important thing for stylists to build their extension business is exposure. Exposure creates more clients. More clients are rewarding and essential to your business.

The most important thing for clients is to feel they got their monies' worth. Do extensive researching before you even schedule your appointment. Asking a stylist references to the grandfather website is a smart thing to do. Never go with a stylist who's pitch is, "this method is the best in the world using the finest hair available". BULL. Because, many tastes are different, there is NO SUCH THING as "a one-size-fits-all and the best and the finest hair/method in the world". Period. Anything discussing preferences in my website is obtained through my experiences. I can reassure you, that I have never, ever high-pressured-sales-pitched any of my clients a method or hair based on my preferences.

CyberMane "turning ordinary hair into an extraordinary mane and never afraid to tell our clients the hard core facts"

Healthy Scalp, Skin Scalp {male/female pattern baldness}, Dry Scalp, Reddish Scalp, Oily Scalp. People may not know this, but the scalp is an extension of the person's face.

Now, knowing the fact that human hair extensions shed, knowing the fact that hair extensions are only attachments which are not growing from one's scalp AND THE SCALP IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REJUVENATING, and knowing the fact that hair extensions are worn every single day {whether at work, at play, during rigorous activities, during any weather conditions, etc,..}, THE MOST ANYONE CAN EVER GET OUT OF ANY RESUABLE HUMAN HAIR EXTENSIONS IS UP TO 1 YEAR.

Never believe stylists who will tell you "this is the finest European hair, which lasts for years and years". Taking your active lifestyle into consideration, use your common sense.

This is what the average person will expect during periodic wear, regardless if the human hair you bought was cuticle-free or cuticle-intact.

First 3 months- the best wear. However, if your attachments involves metals, the metals/locs/coils/rings/tubes may chip revealing a copper or aluminum finish. If your attachment involves tapes, the tapes may peel on its edges. If your attachment involves sewing, I strongly advise do not have your stylist cut the wefts as this will cause tremendous hair extension shedding. If your attachment involves shrink links or shrinkies, the links may turn whitish. Now if have stick/spun/loc hair, your stylist may not need to apply additional glue since the glue may still be harden.

Reusing same hair after 6 months- almost best. But due to daily brushing for dreadlock-free hair, shedding of the hair is common. If you have waist length hair, split ends are starting to show. If your install involves metals/locs/coils/rings/tubes, the glue that is necessary to adhere the loose strands together, are softening and your entire strands of extensions are in need of a complete glue retipping. This also may be the time when your stylist may sell you additional new hair and may add it your your existing hair.

Reusing same hair after 9 months- almost dead to dead. If you have removed your entire extensions and weighed it, ounce for ounce, it is much less. Split ends are very obvious especially if you bought waist length hair {if your stylist did trim the ends, remember that the length is not the same} Now if your install involves metals/locs/coils/rings/tubes, the glue is gone if your stylist did not retip it or the glue may have soften. I advise you to buy new hair.

CYBERMANE SOLUTIONS

Always use Hair Support for your scalp in conjunction with your current hair extension shampoo.

Purchase our Mane-for-a-Year Maintenance package deal.
There are many different types of hair. Human, Man-made, Patented Man-made

The type of hair you decide will depend primarily on your lifestyle, your current hair structure, how long you wish to keep your fake mane. Let's look at the different types of hair.

Asian- the density is very thick, the texture is even and straight like the mane you see in popular shampoo commercials. Because this hair is abundant, it is one of the least expensive.

Indian- the density is thick, the texture is wavy with a strong curl. This is the most popular hair used in today's methods. Because this hair can be manufactured in Europe, so is the reason why many prefer to call this "European Hair". Because this hair is abundant, it is one of the least expensive.

European, Russian, Italian, etc...- the density is thin, the texture ranges from slight wavy to wavy. This is not very popular in today's methods because this hair is least abundant, therefore it is very expensive.

If you are unsure of the type of hair being sold to you, twist the strands with your thumb and forefingers. Also compare that bundle with a friend of yours who is of true Asian, Indian or European decent.

Since Hair Extensions is very popular in the US, many distributors collect their hair from Asia and India due to the most 'virginal' culture of these women. It is very rare that European women will cut off their hair. Their lifestyle is very similar to American Women. They enjoy hair dying, perming, even hair extensions! Learn more about the science of hair.

Be very careful of a stylist who sells you only "European hair" and who refuses to sell other types of hair because according to her, those other hair types are "no good". BOTTOM LINE THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL HAIR TYPE. NEVER BE FOOLED.

Man-Made- The best thing about man-made hair is the ease of care, the color retention, the least expensive and best of all the fantasy it creates...imagine Mermaid Hair...imagine yourself as a living Cartoon Character...anything is possible...creativity is endless. These synthetic fibers will do whatever you dream of them doing...create curls...dreads...twist textures... Because this hair is man-made, it is the least expensive. The care can be simple for some and not as simple for others. Please check with your synthetic care specialist.

Patented Man-Made- Just like the name, this hair is made to resemble your hair, but for the better. Since most extensionists find it hard to find the exact color, texture, length with their human hair distributors {yes, it is true with human hair- NO two bundles are exactly the SAME} as well as looking to offer the best of synthetic man-made {see above} characteristics, scientists have brought to the hair industry Patented Man-Made hair. It is everything you want in human and synthetic COMBINED. The best thing is that you are able to custom make your dream hair...exactly to your specs. What separates this hair type from the rest is its durability. Never shedding, easy to care for, feather-light, color-fast, strength and best of all you are able to customize it!

CyberMane "turning ordinary hair into an extraordinary mane"

Red light, visible to the human eye, is delivered at 660 nanometers and provides topical heat and massages
the scalp allowing the pores to open. Infrared light, invisible to the human eye, is delivered at 940 nanometers and
transmits deeper beyond the scalp reaching the cell structure below. The infrared light increases cellular
metabolism, blood circulation and the supply of oxygen. The synergistic effect created by the two forms of light
allows for an effective producer application and gives the hair its best chance for a healthy growth cycle.

Other effects of light at a lower frequency are: a rapid reduction of inflammatory edema along with a drastic
reduction of pain. The infrared light operates at the peripheral nerve fiber level, activating the process of
myelimization, optimizing the synaptic function. Infrared light also promotes the process of cicanization or healing.

At the joint levels, range of motion (ROM), muscle strength and muscle resistance are all quickly recovered along
with the normalization of the neuromuscular function. The infrared light has a contemporaneous resolution of
traumatic wounds and surgery during rehabilitation.

The product has obtained the necessary approval from European control groups satisfying BBC directives
governing electromagnetic and safety compatibility. This product is in compliance with and has met all
requirements, for a laser product, set out by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration pursuant to 21 C.F.R. § 1040

"If those who currently have a shiny bald head, would have had this available to them back in their twenties, they would be walking today with a thick head of hair"...Jason, sales rep and client.

Treat yourself to the luxury of an exclusive, high-tech facial treatment, specially
formulated for Low Level Light skin therapy.

The Low level light skin therapy as an alternative to a face-lift.

This new formula tones up the skin and makes it appear younger and
smoother. Acts quickly and effectively. the results can be seen after the first few
applications.

The infrared penetrates deeply into the skin. The heated skin dilates the
capillary vases and stimulates the circulation. Blood brings with it the
necessary substances to nourish the human fabrics more quickly.
