Having done extensive research on different types of methods, our master technician is certified in the most common and popular techniques and teaches these to her junior and senior technicians. There are many imitations, but we have chosen to offer the most reliable of methods. Our staff caters to ALL lifestyles and ALL budgets and may beat any of our competitors' pricing. Please tell your technician an ideal spending range so that we can cater to your individual needs. Whether you are in the market to purchase a "Kia" or a "Rolls Royce," our staff will effectively guide you.
With our LIFE-CHANGING MFAY program, your confidence will soar, we promise you that. What is Mane For A Year? Mane For A Year or MFAY is just that; a beautiful mane for an entire year.
How much is ________? Please schedule a consultation with your technician for a precise quote. If you upgrade to our Mane For A Year {MFAY}, the fee is the same for all technicians. Please do not schedule a consult with one technician and have the install done by another technician unless they consulted you together or will install the hair together. We are proud to say that we are one of the few salons who are willing to work with your ideal budget. If you bring your own hair, we will install it for our hourly fee. Hourly fees depends on your choice technician. Technician have the right to refuse any job offers if they do not prefer the hair purchased by you. This is mostly due to the poor quality of the hair and the manufacturer.

We are UPFRONT with you when we give you the quote and will tell you in detail the quality of hair and the procedure. She is so dedicated in this field that she even started a non-profit organization, HelpMe2Stop.org, just to help trich sufferers obtain a hairpiece for their medical disorder. Charlene volunteers for the schools and does Look Good Feel Better for cancer patients.
Do all your clients graduate from the Mane For A Year program? TheSecretMane University Salon, like teachers from school, wishes that all their students would score A+. In a very perfect world, yes, but not in the real world. However, TheSecretMane will "tutor" our student-clients through one-on-one personalized consultations. We are very proud to say that we DO HAVE student-clients are now post-trichotillomania, post-hairloss and we hope they continue on that path!
What should I know prior to scheduling an appointment? Our best customers are those who have done extensive research. They have read our FAQs and visit our website often. They are ready to make an appointment to see, feel and try the hair. They are ready to give a bio about their hair history and their needs. If they have very weak, fine or thin hair, they have used Hair Support Strengthening products on a daily basis for at least 4 weeks, as these products will support any hair attachments.
How should my hair look like during the consultation? The ideal consultation appointment is one who has no semi-permanently installed hairpiece on their hair. It is much easier to see the problematic areas, the texture, color and length of the natural hair. If they currently have a hair piece on and are seriously considering another alternative, it is recommended to have the piece removed by the person who has installed it, and attach hair clips. They can also have The Secret Mane Salon remove it for them for the consultation, and then re-attach it for a fee. If this was hair extensions, individual strands are easier to see then cornrow braids. You must also come to the appointment with your desired hair color to match your new hair and relaxer done so that the technician can match it to the desired hair.
I am currently wearing hair extensions / a hairpiece done by another salon. Will you be able to remove this for me? Yes. We charge a removal fee. We are not responsible for the outcome of the removal.
For existing clients who has service elsewhere or used a different glue. You may be asked to rebook your appointment and have the glue removed by that salon or if you applied it yourself, then you are responsible to remove it. Our glue is formulated especially for our installs and using others may cause an unfamiliar solution foreign to our technicians. To protect our technicians from allergic reactions, The Secret Mane salons will not service foreign glues or glues bought elsewhere even though the seller claims "it's the same glue".
How long does it normally take for the hair to become available? If the hair is in stock it takes 1 to 14 days. If the hair has to be specially ordered, it will take 3 to 16 weeks, with an average of 6 weeks. Most special orders are curly hair. You may buy your own hair and ship it to us to make into a wig or you may select from the many hair manufacturers we have that offer Far Eastern Hair, Indian Temple Hair, Virgin European Hair, Virgin Philippine Hair. We are not responsible if it takes longer than expected. Once any hair is ordered, there are NO REFUNDS.
How long does it take to get my procedure installed? How many hours from start to finish will I be at your salon? Normally 3-6 hours. If you are coming from out-of-state and had to take a plane to see us, we are willing to accommodate your time.
I know what I want OR I live very far and I would like to have procedure done in one visit. That can be accomplished. Depending on your needs, we will need your pictures and hair samples, or you can purchase our color ring, a hairstyle picture you would like us to copy.
What is a webcam consultation? You set up a time and day for us to get back to you and see exactly what you're talking about via web cam.
Help, I'm a minor suffering from trichotillomania and I need a hairpiece so bad, but cannot afford it! Please help me! Of course! We are still trying to raise money for HelpMe2Stop.org, but in the meantime, please add your name to our waiting list for our "hand-me-down" hairpieces.
Do you sell a trichotillomania hairpiece do-it-yourself kit? Yes! But without our Glue. It is for professional-use only. Just clips.
Do you offer classes to teach your method for installing hairpieces for trichotillomania? Yes! Fill out our Careers Form.
What do I need in order to book the appointment? We need the FULL amount 3 days prior to install. Once funds are collected, there are NO REFUNDS. If the hair is part of a volume or discounted order, then 100% is due.
What if I don't like my hair augmentation after it has been installed. Because this has been worn, hair is like underwear and it would be unsanitary to RESELL, which is why we never refund the hair. You must be 100% completely satisfied with the hair, the cut, the blending and the installation BEFORE you walk out of our shop. This is why a consultation to see, feel and try the hair is highly recommended. We also sell hair samples so you can see and feel the hair that we will use on your head. You should try to wash and style the sample(s) to see if this investment is for you. Remember that we are specialists and you are NOT the only client for whom we have installed this very same hair. As a result, there is no reason why you should find anything wrong with our hair. We can remove it for a fee and we can donate it to someone who will appreciate more.
Most likely it has been maintained poorly. If you wanted us to color the hair, you understand that chemicals will alter any human hair and we offer NO replacement. If you are still dissatisfied with the quality of the hair order, you must make an appointment to show it to your technician so she can show you the correct way to maintain it. If the technician feels that this hair could have been a "lemon" and that the mistake was not on your part, then it will be sent back to the manufacturer for dispute resolution, and the technician will replace it free of charge. CyberMane Inc. is limited by manufacturer warranty and offers no guarantee beyond that which is offered by the manufacturer.
I've just had a consultation. I am afraid to move forward, but I really need something on my head. You are not alone. I suggest that you start off small. Email your technician and ask for the very least amount of hair. Once you have tried about a handful, and you see that you love it because you now know how to work it, then you are ready for the entire head. If you are nervous about making the commitment, get your feet wet before you jump in the water.
How should my hair be the day of install? Squeaky clean with no oils, no styling products, and condition only the ends. If you have curly hair, flat iron it. The finished look will be cut, styled, conditioned and/or oiled by your technician. You may bring in your favorite styling products and tools.
What is the tipping policy? The tip is additional to your hair augmentation service initial quote. Normally 15-20%. Technicians have the right to refuse any job offers.
As our policy, you must be 100% completely satisfied before you leave our salon. You have the option to schedule a complimentary follow up visit. Please make a follow up appointment with your technician. This appt takes 15 minutes. If it goes beyond 15 mins, there maybe a charge.
Please note that our technicians are trained to help you every step of the way.
